Congregation Agudas Achim | Columbus, OH

Congregation Agudas Achim is a thriving egalitarian Conservative congregation in Columbus,
OH, one of the fastest-growing cities in the US. In today’s world, we aspire to be a place of
radical joy. Agudas Achim is in a uniquely charged period of potential, with an exceptionally
engaged and energetic lay leadership, renewed membership growth (40 member units in the
last two months), strong community agency relationships, and a newly engaged Rabbi.
In partnership with the Rabbi, our Executive Director is tasked with developing and executing
Agudas Achim’s strategic vision. The ED will manage a team whose responsibilities include:
operations, development, membership, bookkeeping, facility maintenance, marketing, and

The collaboration between the ED and Agudas Achim’s Rabbi will be a critical factor in the
congregation’s growth and expansion. The successful candidate will be comfortable
collaborating and executing their vision, and listening and leading within a diverse and engaged
Congregation. The ED will work to continuously improve our service delivery and prepare
Agudas Achim for the next phase of its growth.
Organizational Design

As a critical member of the executive team, the ED is responsible for overall strategic, financial,
logistical, and communications health of the synagogue. The ED reports to the board of
directors, and their day-to-day tasks and operations are under the supervision of the Rabbi. The
ED exercises general oversight over all personnel excluding clergy. The professional team at
Agudas Achim is led and supported by the ED, who drives the work culture at the synagogue
