Dear Friends,
Thanksgiving is a great excuse to focus on gratitude. Indeed the Jewish tradition of waking up every morning and expressing gratitude for the gift of another day invites us to do that each and every day, and the goal of reciting 100 blessings every day is an invitation to cultivate gratitude all day long.
Personally, I want to thank each and every one of you for welcoming me these past weeks into your hearts and community. I want to express gratitude to the Board and the lay leaders who give so much of your time and talent to the Agudas Achim community. And, I want to thank the amazing staff: Ari, Nancy, Naomi and Thax (to be judiciously alphabetical about it) for all of your hard work, creativity, and good cheer day in and day out.
But since gratitude is not the only feeling we have this week, my thoughts on the parsha this week focus on another feeling that I sense is running deep with many of us right now: disappointment. To hear more, please click here.
Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Abigail Treu
