There are many ways to get involved at Agudas Achim. Whether you are looking to build relationships, contribute your time and skills, or take part in shared experiences, our groups and committees offer meaningful ways to connect with the community.
Some opportunities are centered on participation and community life, while others focus on supporting the ongoing work of the synagogue.

These groups offer opportunities to connect with others, participate in programs, and take an active role in community life.
Brotherhood
The Brotherhood helps our members build community through programs such as A Night Out With The Stars, Minyannaires family dinners, Pizza, Parsha, & Pints, Yom HaShoah Yellow Candles, Campership Awards, and more.
Tzedek
With a focus on social action, the Tzedek Committee leads the congregation in carrying out mitzvot through activities such as clothing drives, local environmental efforts, and assisting members in need.
Kiddush Committee
The Kiddish Committee meets once a week to develop and prepare a delicious Shabbat Kiddush meal for the congregation.
Green Agudas
This committee educates congregants on sustainability and provides easy pathways for composting, recycling, energy, and gardening.
Membership
The Membership Committee collaborates with the Director of Congregational Life to warmly welcome new members and nurture meaningful connections by actively engaging current members in upcoming events.
Supporting Our Community
These committees help sustain and guide the work of the synagogue, ensuring that Agudas Achim remains a strong, vibrant, and well-functioning community.
Security
The Security Committee oversees policy and cybersecurity initiatives, while managing the volunteer security team in coordination with local law enforcement to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
Building
The Building Committee meets monthly to keep our facilities safe, welcoming, and well cared for by identifying areas that need attention, and working towards solutions by coordinating with contractors or contributing expertise.
Finance
The Finance Committee oversees the financial health of the Synagogue, reviewing financial reports, preparing the annual budget, and ensuring sound fiscal management of all organizational funds. They meet monthly to review income, expenses, and long-term financial planning.
Development & Fundraising
The Development and Fundraising Committee cultivates relationships with donors, collaborates with staff on member-focused marketing materials, and provides oversight for all fundraising activities.
Governance
The Governance Committee meets six times a year to establish synagogue policies and guide board operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and oversee the recruitment and evaluation of staff, fostering effective leadership and organizational integrity.
Chevra Kadisha
Members of this committee perform sacred tasks that prepare Jewish deceased for burial according to tradition, including ritually washing and dressing the body, guarding the body, and often supporting mourners during Shiva.
Cemetery
This committee meets six times a year to manage the upkeep of all Agudas Achim cemeteries, update policies, audit plot records, and assist with family inquiries.
Ritual
The Ritual Committee works closely with the Rabbi regarding matters of ritual and tradition while also coordinating weekly worship services.
